Imagination Design Marathon

On June 2nd forty-three artists, designers, architects, dreamers and community innovators came together to brainstorm, sketch and model together to design an Imaginarium for downtown Winston-Salem, NC. The resulting works will be displayed at a public art exhibit this fall.

To see photos of the participants, sketches and overall fun go here.

The Imagination Design Marathon was a day of collaborative design to imagine a permanent public art installation that will capture and share our communitiy’s collective dreams. We worked together in teams of five to create preliminary designs and along the way we built new friendships. It was an opportunity to remind ourselves that creating is fun. For an hour-by-hour day of event schedule go here.

The Imagination Design Marathon was a collaboration between Community Design Studio and the Imagination Installation Project.  A big thank you to these young and energetic designers for mobilizing the creative community on our behalf and modelling collaborative community design.  Thank you also to Mark Leach and SECCA for hosting the Saturday event.
